In my last article, we explored how the simple act of washing your hands can become a mindful moment, a way to pause and reconnect with yourself during a busy day. I hope you found that practice grounding and helpful.
This next step isn’t revolutionary. It’s simply an invitation to build on that awareness, to take mindfulness just a little further by bringing it into another part of your daily routine.
Most of us shower or bathe regularly, and this week’s gentle challenge is to do it mindfully. Just once a day, for a week.
The aim here isn’t to transform every handwash, shower, or bath into a full mindfulness practice. The goal is to remind you that everyday activities can become moments of calm. That you can integrate mindfulness into your life without cost, without fuss, and in ways that genuinely suit you.
After all, your mindful shower might include a full-on singalong, and if belting out a power ballad brings you joy, that’s your wellbeing right there!
So, for the next week, I invite you to try the practices below, one for showering, one for bathing, and simply notice the impact.
You could deepen this experience by intentionally choosing a scent that supports your mood. A zingy citrus body wash to awaken, or a grounding lavender oil to calm.
